Joseph Yang, Esq.
Joseph Yang is a Founding Partner of PatentEsque Law Group, LLP where he specializes in technology transactions, patent licensing and patent strategy. He also currently serves as Vice President and General Counsel of Cryptography Research, Inc. Formerly, Joe was Counsel at the Skadden Arps firm, where he co-founded and later led the Intellectual Property Transactions practice in the firm's Palo Alto office.
Joe's practice includes advising clients on all aspects of intellectual property, with a focus on structuring, negotiating and implementing technology transfer, technology alliance, joint venture, patent licensing and e-commerce agreements. He also frequently assists companies to develop and implement strategies for maximizing the commercial value of their patent portfolios, with a special emphasis on licensing and exploitation.
Joe is a nationally recognized speaker and authority on intellectual property law topics. He co-chairs the annual "Advanced Licensing Agreements" course for the Practising Law Institute in San Francisco and New York City, and has taught the "Patent Law and Policy" course at U.C. Berkeley (Boalt Hall) School of Law as an adjunct professor. Joe is also listed in Marquis Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the World.
Joe holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School, and a Ph.D. in engineering from the California Institute of Technology.

Roxana Yang is a Founding Partner of PatentEsque Law Group, LLP. She specializes in intellectual property strategy, including competitive portfolio analysis, patent counseling, portfolio evaluation, development & management, assisting clients to design around competitors' patents, and performing noninfringement & invalidity analyses.
Roxana specializes in the computer, electronics and semiconductor industries, and has extensive technical experience in both software and hardware technologies.
Before co-founding PatentEsque Law Group, LLP, Roxana was an attorney at the intellectual property law firm, Pennie & Edmonds, LLP.
Roxana is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the State Bar of California. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and U.S. District Court, Northern District of California.
Roxana is a regular author and speaker on a wide variety of patent law matters for organizations such as the Practicising Law Institute. Roxana is also listed in Marquis Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the World.
Roxana received a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles, and a J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley (Boalt Hall School of Law).
